Robert B. Freedman
Robert was admitted to the California Bar in 1969 and was an attorney in private practice in Oakland, California for more than 25 years. Governor Pete Wilson appointed him to the Oakland, Emeryville, Piedmont Municipal Court in 1996. In 1998 Wilson elevated him to the Superior Court. Robert is now the Alameda County Supervising Judge and Assistant Presiding Judge. |

THE HONORABLE ROBERT B. FREEDMAN is a judge of the Superior Court of California, County of Alameda .He currently serves in a civil direct calendar assignment after completing six years as one of the Court's two complex civil litigation departments. Prior to his initial appointment to the bench in 1996, Judge Freedman was engaged in the private practice of law in Oakland, California. He served as President of the Alameda County Bar Association in 1988. He is a past member of the Civil and Small Claims Advisory Committee to the California Judicial Council and is a current member of the Court Technology Advisory Committee to the Judicial Council. Judge Freedman also serves as a judicial member of the Board of Governors of the Association of Business Trial Lawyers, Northern California Chapter. On the Court, Judge Freedman served as Assistant Presiding Judge (2004 - 2005) and as Supervising Judge/Civil Direct Calendaring and is currently a member of the court's Executive Committee. He holds a B.A. degree from UCLA and a J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law (Boalt Hall). Judge Freedman was honored as the Alameda County Trial Judge of the Year for 2008 by the Alameda-Contra Costa Trial Lawyers Association.
