Call it Oakland developer Phil Tagami's contribution to our unemployment rate. A handful of people lost their jobs this month because Tagami hasn't paid Architectural Dimensions for work the Walnut Creek company did on Oakland's Rotunda project. Architectural Dimensions' Jim Heilbronner has spent six months bugging Rotunda Partners Tagami, Len Epstein and Mark Moss to pay bills that one source put at around $1 million. Heilbronner says it's best if he says nothing at all on the fight. Tagami says Heilbronner overbilled him, they are "working it out" and it's no one else's business. Given that Oakland put $12 million in the project, you might expect someone at City Hall to make it their business.
